과학 영재성 판별 및 부모의 특성에 관한 연구 -사설 영재교육기관을 중심으로-

This study is aiming at finding out whether students in private educational institutions for the gifted may have talent in science or not and to study their parents` characteristics. For research, two methods were used: test to identify the gifted and questionnaire to examine their parents` unconscious educational ways or educational environment. The objects of study were 188 elementary students of the fifth and sixth grade trained by private institutions and 62 of their parents. This research showed that 48.4go of the students was sorted out as young genius in science. It seems that most parents believe their children have` special talent in science regardless of their children`s real abilities. Parents recognized a necessity education for the gifted in science, and had positive impression on the special education. As methods to educate science, they preferred to buy scientific books or send their children to private educational institution for the gifted. They are inclined to put prior to contents of program when select a private educational institution. A motive which the children joined in programs was not by their parents willingness, but by children`s interest in science.
