This article was prepared on the results of research carried out by the budget plan for the Thematic research Finuniversiteta 2011. The paper presents the results of studies of the development of innovative processes in the Russian economy in comparison with developed countries for the period of 2000 2007. The findings presented in this article are aimed at optimizing the economic environment of the Russian Federation to promote innovation.
