JRAS and LRAS Strategies for Two-Way Full-Duplex Amplify-and-Forward Relaying

2018
Antenna selection and relay selection for full-duplex (FD) two-way amplify-and-forward relay system, where a multi-antenna node communicates with a single-antenna node via exploiting a series of single-antenna relays, are studied. Tradeoffs between system performance and selection complexity, an optimal joint relay and antenna selection (JRAS) strategy and a suboptimal low-complexity relay and antenna selection (LRAS) strategy are proposed and compared. The evaluation of the two selection strategies are performed by outage probability approximations in closed-form. Furthermore, we analyze the impact of relay location and diversity order on system performance with the two proposed selection strategies. Moreover, the effects of residual self-interference (RSI) caused by FD technique on system performance were given out. Finally, simulation results are used to verify the accuracy of the theoretical analysis.
