Excess molar volumes of binary mixtures of 1,1,1-trichloroethane with ketones and esters at 303.15 K

Abstract Excess volume data on mixing for binary mixtures of 1,1,1-trichloroethane with methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, acetophenone, cyclohexanone, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, n -propyl acetate and n -butyl acetate have been measured as a function of composition at 303.15 K. The V E values are negative in mixtures of 1,1,1-trichloroethane with methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, acetophenone, cyclohexanone, n -propyl acetate and n -bytyl acetate and positive for mixtures of methyl acetate and ethyl acetate. The measured V E data are analysed in the light of intermolecular interactions.
