Origin and Continuity

This chapter deals with the origin of forms: ivan (portico) and vaulted space, discussed by scholars and archaeologists, but here simplified, illustrated, and considered as a process of formation and continuity. The study draws attention to some prominent historic and also ordinary buildings; little importance is given to them in education and profession, the forgotten knowledge, which has both cultural and climatic basis.
