Efeito da suplementação da pastagem na seca, com rolão de milho e torta de algodão, em novilhas Gir, Sindi e Guzerá

1985
It was studied the effects of supplementation with thirty six heifers of “gir”, “sindi” and “guzera” breed, kept in a pasture of guinea grass ( Panicum maximum Jacq.)  during the dry season (July to October), using the following treatments: A: ground ear com; B: cotton seed meal; C: ground ear com plus cotton seed meal; D: control. The experimental design was the complete randomized block in a factorial array 3 x 4 (breeds x supplementations) with three replications. At the end of the supplementation period of 84 days, the gain weight of the heifers were observed during more 180 days. The average daily gain weight the period of 84 days were 0.250, 0.224 and 0.181kg for gir, sindi and guzera breeds, respectively. Supplementation with ground ear com and cotton seed meal showed significant differences in gain weight at the level of 0.01 and 0.05 of probability, respectively. Breeds were significant at 0.05 level of probability demonstrated that gir breed had the best gain weight in relation to guzera breed. Analysis at 180 days revealed an average daily 9am weight of 0.564, 0524 and 0.433kg, respectively, for guzera, sindi and gir breed. Supplementation during the dry season did not reduced the age at the first calving.
