A study of the fluorescence system of terbium-enoxacin and its applications

Terbium fluorescence sensitized by enoxacin via the formation of an organic chelate, was used for the sensitive determination of terbium. The fluorescence intensity was a linear function of the concentration in the range 5.0 × 10 - 8 ∼ 8.0 × 10 - 6 mol dm - 3 and the detection limit was 1.0 × 10 - 9 mol dm - 3 for Tb-enoxacin(EFLX)-CTMAB system. The system was applied to the determination of terbium in the rare earth samples with satisfactory results.
