Chemical Activation and Hydrogen Storage Properties of Mesoporous Carbon CMK-3

Activation of mesoporous carbon cmk-3 with koh, naoh, h(3)po(4) was studied. huge structure and texture changes emerge for the activated cmk-3 based on the characterization by using xrd, low temperature nitrogen adsorption-desorption. the ordered mesoporous structure of cmk-3 gradually became disorder, specie surface area and mesoporous (2 nm)were enhanced remarkably. the effect on activation results was studied of mass ratio for cmk-3 to koh, activation temperature, chemical used. hydrogen sorption measurement shows that the activation leads to an obvious increase in the h(2) sorption capacity of cmk-3. the h(2) uptake of 2.32wt% at 77 k and 100 kpa was obtained.
