Persistent paléosurfaces in the basement of French Massif Central: geodynamic implications.

2014
The siderolithic paleoweathering surfaces of the French Central Massif have been dated to the Late Jurassic/Early Cretaceous, contrasting with previously accepted Tertiary age and implying that the Massif has never hosted a thick sedimentary cover. This contradicts with former thermochronological results. Herein, we expose the arguments for and against the proposed geodynamic evolution of the French Massif Central constrained by paleomagnetic age determinations.
