Structure and catalytic properties of MoO_4~(2-) intercalated Mg-Al-Ti layered double hydroxides

2008
MoO2-4-intercalated layered double hydroxides(MoO2-4-LDHs) containing Mg2+,Al3+ and Ti4+ were synthesized by the anion exchange method. The materials were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) and thermogravimetric and differential analysis(TG-DTA).The results indicated that calcination of intercalated LDHs samples could give rise to the formation of composite metal oxides containing Ti and Mo,and calcination temperature had a significant effect on the composite and structure of the calcined samples. The oxidation of propylene epoxidation by hydrogen peroxide exhibited that MoO2-4-LDHs calcined at 500 ℃ achieved the highest conversion of propylene owing to the presence of more amount of composite oxide phase containing active centers.
