Disclosed is an intelligent pipe network system based on an orbital robot, comprising a shuttle orbit (10), a mobile robot (20), a robot docking station (30) and a control and data exchange platform (40), wherein the shuttle orbit (10) is fixedly arranged in a cabin of a utility tunnel (50), is paved along an axial direction of the utility tunnel (50), and passes through a fire-proof door (70); the mobile robot (20) is movably and fixedly arranged on the shuttle orbit (10), and is used for patrolling the condition within the utility tunnel (50) and repairing a failure; the robot docking station (30) provides charging and fitting operation establishing, and serves as a communication relay station to link the communications between the control and data exchange platform (40) and the robot (20); and the control and data exchange platform (40) is used for analysing and storing received data, providing a query, performing displaying, and sending instruction data for executing a task to the mobile robot (20). The intelligent pipe network system, compared with an intelligent pipe network using a sensor arranged at a fixed point, has the advantages of simple maintenance, low operating costs and a wide detection range, and can replace labours to perform safety patrolling.
