The “State” in a Village

The Fengning Manchu Ethnic Autonomous County Hope Elementary School (Fengning Hope Elementary School) is the only place in Humaying Township that displays the county seal. In 1991, news of the Hope Project reached this county that is out of the way even though it’s not remote, after which county leaders established the school in conjunction with the Communist Youth League provincial committee.
