A Pharmacokinetic Interaction of Pioglitazone and Its Clinical Applications: A Short Review

To review the Pioglitazone of anti-diabetic drugs i n the type-2 diabetic patients since the situation of anti-diabetic drugs are used in combination therapy for longer period of ti me, whose safety and efficacy of drugs is in determ ine. This article seeks to highlights the pharmacokinetics, dynamics of piogli tazone and the interactions of pioglitazone when us ed in combination therapy. Looking at the situation in the India would se rve the further emphasize the seriousness of drug i nteraction event related health’s issues in developing countries. A search f or journal article on pioglitazone pharmacokinetics , drug interactions was done on the pubmed, electronic bibliographic, datab ase systems of the digital electronic library netwo rk (DEL NET), of the India. To supplement that research information on e pidemiology of drug interaction, P-glycoprotein rol e in drugs interaction, newer applications of pioglitazone was obtained fro m other published articles text book and relevant i nternet sites. Pioglitazone drug belongs to the class of compounds thiazolidine diones are mainly used in type-2 diabetes. Pioglita zone decreases the blood glucose level in the body, have anti inflammatory e ffects and improve endothelial function, because of this it acts as, cardio protective, neuro protective.
