Robustness of Electric Power Engineering Education: Enrollments and University Research Funding Levels 1969–2018

Selected data from the IEEE Power Engineering Education Committee (PEEC) surveys (1969–2018) of power engineering resources have been extracted to identify enrollments in power and funding for university research in this area. The main observations are for US universities but some remarks on Canadian data are included. The nexus between university research funding and graduate enrollments is discussed and comments on undergraduate course enrollments in power engineering are given. Future trends are conjectured.
