Impact of family concern and psychological capital on antenatal depression of pregnant women

Objective The research aimed to understand the impact of family concern and psychological capital on antenatal depression of pregnant women, and to test the mediating role of psychological capital between two variables. Methods The questionnaire survey was performed in 221 pregnant women with random sampling, statistic analysis was conducted with structural equation model. Results The incidence of depression of pregnant women was 17.65% (39/221), family concern (β=-0.15) and psychological capital (β=-0.42) were negatively correlated with depression of pregnant women, psychological capital played a partial mediating effect between relation. Conclusions Positive family concern can improve the psychological capital and reduce incidence of depression of pregnant women, the finding will provide some scientific evidence on pregnancy care for pregnant women.
