Primary synovial sarcoma (SS) of larynx: An unusual site

Abstract Soft tissue sarcomas (STSs) are heterogeneous disorders comprises myriad subtypes originated from mesenchymal stem cells. Synovial sarcomas (SSs) are belligerent malignant tumours included in this group affecting extremities of patients’ age ranging between 15 and 35 years. SS taking place in head and neck region is rare event and primary laryngeal involvement is even rarer happening. There are 20 odd published cases documented in world literature so far. Here we are presenting primary laryngeal SS occurred in 31 year old male patient initially mimicking laryngeal carcinoma as patient was chronic smoker and classic symptom of hoarseness of voice.
