Isobutane dehydrogenation and Pt LIII-edge XAFS studies on γ-Al2O3 supported Pt-containing catalysts

1998
γ-Al 2 O 3 supported Pt-containing catalysts have been investigated by Isobutane dehydrogenation and XAFS analyses. The results indicated that Pt species is highly dispersed on the γ-Al 2 O 3 support for the γ-Al 2 O 3 supported Pt-containing catalysts after reduction. Pt is in amorphous metallic state, and no alloy of Pt-Sn or Pt-Fe was formed after reduction for the Pt-Sn/γ-Al 2 O 3 and Pt-Fe/γ-Al 2 O 3 catalysts. Pt anchored γ-Al 2 O 3 support via promoter-SnO or FeO, which resulted in an enhanced dehydrogenation performance for the both catalysts.
