Análisis de la seguridad vial de travesías peatonales - un nuevo método para el modelado y una aplicación en carreteras

The objective of this work is the study of analysis methods for pedestrian safety at crossings through the use of models for maneuver opportunities and conflict opportunities in road traffic. These concepts have the advantage of using only operational data on the studied area, such as speed, traffic flow, pedestrian flow, among others, and infer the level of safety from logical and structured models. The  theoretical  structure of these types of model is presented, recently extended to analyze the preventability of accidents and their potential severity, as well as the results of illustrative applications made in sites of two highways.
