Some reactions of fluorosulfonic and trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydrides
1989
Abstract Anhydrides of fluorosulfonic and trifluoromethanesulfonic acids are well-known. Comparatively little chemistry of fluorosulfonic anhydride, S 2 O 5 F 2 , is known. We have successfully reacted S 2 O 5 F 2 with various substrates to obtain new fluorosulphates. The reactions of S 2 O 5 F 2 with NaBi (CF 3 COO) 4 , Na 2 Te(CF 3 COO) 6 , K 2 SeO 4 , (C 6 H 5 ) 3 PO, (C 6 H 5 ) 3 AsO and Ti (OCH 3 ) 4 gave new fluorosulfates; NaBiO (SO 3 F) 2 , Na 2 TeO 2 (SO 3 F) 2 , K 2 SeO 3 (SO 3 F) 2 ,(C 6 H 5 ) 3 P + O P + (C 6 H 5 ) 3 -2SO 3 F - , (C 6 H 5 ) 3 A s + O A + s(C 6 H 5 ) 3 2SO 3 F - and Ti(OCH 3 ) 2 (SO 3 F) 2 , respectively. These reactions reveal S 2 O 5 F 2 as a potentially useful fluorosulfonating agent. Similar reactions of trifluoromethanesulfonic anhyride, (CF 3 SO 2 ) 2 O, with various substrates will also be discussed.
