INTEGRATED FARMING OF PIG AND STONE BANANA: AN ALTERNATIVE OF STRENGTHENING COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

Many studies have proven that integrated farming provides multidimensional benefits. However, there are still many benefits and advantages of integrated farming that have not been revealed. This study aims to analyze (1) the financial profit of integrated farming of pigs and stone bananas, and (2) the competitive advantages of integrated farming of pigs and stone bananas. This research is a survey research conducted on 220 respondents, consisting of 86 respondents who organize integrated farming of pigs and bananas, 70 respondents who organize pig farming (partial), and 64 respondents who organized stone banana farming (partial). Data analysis was performed using a policy analysis matrix (PAM) approach.  The results showed that the financial profit of integrated farming of pigs and stone bananas were greater than partial farming, and integrated farming of pigs and stone bananas had a stronger competitive advantage than partial farming. It was concluded that the integrated farming of pigs and stone bananas was able to strengthen competitive advantage, so it is suggested that partial farmers switch to integrated farming.   Keywords: integrated farming, pigs, stone banana, competitive advantage.
