22 – Simulation learning

2017
Simulation learning can be a valuable tool deployed in support of the learning of students with disabilities in the sciences. In thinking about simulation learning, we must consider two scenarios: (1) When simulation learning will benefit a student with a disability, because other accommodation methods are not appropriate or feasible; and, (2) When simulation learning is applied to all students, where accessibility considerations of the simulation must be taken into account for students with disabilities in the class. In this chapter, we will review the application of both scenarios for simulation learning to students with disabilities in the sciences.
