Screening of Wheat Germplasm Resources and Varieties for Resistance to BYDV

Wheat yellow dwarf disease is a major disease in China.In order to prevent yellow dwarf disease from occurring and epidemic,early sowing and hill plot technique were used to identify germplasm resources of wheat and wheat varieties in this research.252 cultivars sowed by hill plot technique and 383 samples of different wheat germplasm materials were evaluated for resistance to BYDV by artificial inoculation and natural infection in the field during 2007-2008,respectively.The resistant cultivars and germplasm materials achieved last year were identified again in 2008;the results showed that there were 15 major cultivars and 23 samples of germplasm materials.And some infected BYDV could recover in some different extent;resistant identification was combining with yield loss caused by BYDV.
