Uso de afloramentos rochosos para captação de água de chuvas: segurança hídrica e benefícios socioambientais

2021
Currently, rock outcrops have now been used as simple social technologies that seek to capture and store rainwater and, with this, promote human supply. Thus, the objective was to analyze the quality of the water captured in Tanque do Araca, a water reservoir over a rocky outcrop in the municipality of Esperanca-PB, and to identify the social, economic and environmental benefits of using rocky outcrops in the management of water resources. In this way, it was possible to carry out analyzes of the physical-chemical and microbiological parameters of the water, both in the Araca tank and in the residences of 135 the families that use the outcrop. Therefore, it was observed that, in spite of the physicochemical parameters, the microbiological analyzes indicated that the stored water, both in the Araca tank and in the households residences, are contaminated by fecal thermotolerant coliforms, which forces the families to treat such water with the addition of chlorine. However, studies have also pointed out that the storage of rainwater in rocky outcrops has brought many socioeconomic and environmental benefits such as: management of water resources; water safety; reduction of costs with the purchase of water; in addition to meeting the water needs of countless families who coexist with the scarcity of water
