Microfacies Study of Asmari Formation in the Northwest and Southeast of Shiraz, Iran

In this study two stratigraphy sections of Asmari Formation is selected which are Sarvestan and Sadra Section-in Fars province, Iran. Totally 422.2 meters of this rock unit sediment is studied in field of microfacies. Its index microfacies are carefully determined through studying of 160 thin sections. This research reflects that the index microfacies in the studied sections are Mudstone, Wackestone, Packstone, Grainstone and quantitative microfacies elements such as bioclast, pellet, extraclast and intraclast are various percentages in vertical distribution of the studied stratigraphic sections. In addition, bioclast is more than microfacies element other in both stratigraphic columns.
