In Nigeria, the situation has become worsened that, it has crippled down the social, economic and cultural activities of some areas due to incessant domestic violence, bombing, ethnic clashes, religions violence among others. The study examines social violence; a threat to a sustainable healthful environment. It derives data from primary and secondary sources and employs, Marxian class struggle theory as basis of its theoretical underpinnings. The study finds out that violence is indeed rampant in Nigeria and its implication on health could be dangerous if not put to control. It recommends appropriate steps for its reduction. The study will be of benefit to policy makers, governments and institutions as well as researchers.
