Isotope shifts of the 557 nm transition in even krypton isotopes

Abstract Doppler free saturation spectroscopy has been applied to obtain accurate values for the isotope shifts of the 2p 3 -1s 5 transition in even krypton isotopes. A field shift was found which reflects a much larger increase of the average charge distribution for the first half of the g 9 2 neutrol shell compared to the second half.
