Formation of (Ba, Pb)TiO3 from BaTiO3 in PbCl2-KCl molten salt system

The reaction of BaTiO3 powders in the molten PbCl2.KCl system with different compositions was performed at 500-600 °C. It was found that by the addition of KCl to PbCl2 the formation of TiO2 and PbTi3O7 could be avoided and the formation of a solid solution of tetragonal Ba0,1 Pb0,5TiO3 was facilited.
