Arco aórtico derecho con subclavia izquierda aberrante que se origina en un divertículo de Kommerell. Revisión actualizada de la literatura y presentación de un caso clínico

2010
Vascular rings are abnormal structures capable of compressing the trachea/esophagus and constitute 1% of the congenital cardiovascular malformations. They are divided into complete and incomplete rings, knowing the latter as slings. It is estimated that the right aortic arch with aberrant left subclavian has an incidence of between 0.06 and 0.1% of the population. Approximately 60% of carriers are asymptomatic. They are identified as incidental findings during imaging studies, heart surgery or at autopsy. The symptom that most often originate is dysphagia, which may progress to aphagia. The respiratory manifestations are more common in children due to the lack of rigidity of the trachea. Despite its very low incidence, it is advisable to consider these pathologies as a diagnostic possibility in patients unsuccessfully multitreated for gastroesophageal reflux, respiratory problems, or both. The purpose of this article is to review the current literature and to present a clinical case.
