The Analysis of the driver’s obstruction factor on front vision and improvements methods

Objective: The aim of this study is proposed methods of the secured the safety of pedestrian and driver through the Analysis of the driver’s obstruction factor on front vision and improvements methods. Background: When driver drive the vehicle, a lot of obstruction factor on front vision come from road condition. External factors are road, facility on the road side, pedestrian and other vehicle. And, Driver’s front vision obstructed by internal factors. Especially A-pillar and Outside mirror are obstructed the driver’s front vision when driving on the crossroads. Method: Visibility evaluation through the area calculation for the visible area and Scholly Method. Analyze: Driver"s obstruction factor on front vision 1) Distance between ERP ~ A Pillar, 2) A-Pillar Thickness, 3) Relative position between SgRP ~ Outside Mirror 4) Mirror size. Results: The front vision analyze methods are built base on the result of this study. Application: Optimization of driver’s front vision.
