Design of a Low-Cost 1–20 GHz E-Shaped Antenna for Wireless Applications

This paper presents the design of E-shaped patch antenna with rectangular slot for various wireless applications, such as WLAN, GPS, and Wireless Communication. The simulation results are obtained and verified at different ranges of frequencies like at 2.98, 5.98, 8.2, and 16.2 GHz for various applications. The antenna structure is designed on a dielectric FR4 epoxy substrate of dimension (60 mm × 50 mm), dielectric constant €r = 4.2, and height = 1.8 mm, and it is fed by coaxial cable 50 Ω matching impedance with the bandwidth of 480 and 800 MHz. The results obtained are reflection coefficient, gain, and radiation patterns.
