Studies on the stability of urinary oxalate

1987
In the last decade determination of oxalate in urine and plasma has become an important analytical task in urolithiasis research. Although various methods have been developed until now none of them has been satisfactory as a standard method for clinical and research purposes. The improved ion-chromatography technique used by us (1) was described firstly in 1982 (2, 3) and 1983 (4). The advantages are its high specificity, its relative ease of practice, the necessity for only a short analytical time period and the fact that it is not subject to interference by other substances. Therefore we regard ion-chromatography as a useful tool for investigating the stability of oxalate in urine.
