Design and development of a multiplex-port Brouter for regional computer communication network systems

This paper presents a newly developed multiplex-port brouter (MBR) for regional Computer communication network systems and its performance. The MBR can accommodate a large number of subscribers by a multiplexed signal interface. The system configuration and MBR architecture are presented. The MBR performance is evaluated using PCs connected via a subscriber network system. System configurations to accommodate a large scale of users by connecting some MBRs are also described.
