Clinical Application of Soloassist, a Joystick-Guided Robotic Scope Holder, in General Surgery

2020
Abstract To maximize the specifications of advanced image quality such as 3D and 4K, stable camera operation without trembling is desirable. Recently, robotic scope holders have been developed that allow the operator to control the scope. The Soloassist system is a joystick-guided robotic camera control system, designed simply and compactly. It can be easily installed on any part of the side rail of the operation table and scope movement can be controlled by the surgeon in a straightforward and intuitive fashion via an ergonomic joystick. The simply designed holder arm provides a highly flexible, relaxed working environment for surgeon. It can be universally used both in elective and emergency surgery. The Soloassist system provides the possibilities of saving human resources and shortening operative time, while no additional setup time is required. Soloassist is an effective robot-assisted surgical instrument for various endoscopic surgeries.
