Preliminary Chemical Study for the Manufacture of High Tc Superconducting Wires

1990
Superconducting composite wires containing both the superconductor and a metal sheath are required for many applications. This design, used for industrial superconducting wires is desirable in order to stabilize the superconducting state minimizing local heating and energy dissipation induced by magnetic flux changes, to carry current in case of local break down of superconductivity and of course to provide mechanical and environmental protection.
