Miomectomia: comparação entre diferentes técnicas cirúrgicas e suas repercussões

2020
The present study sought to show which techniques bring the most benefits to patients regarding the time of surgery and hospitalization, relief of post-operation symptoms and recurrence of fibroids. Popularly known as fibroids, uterine leiomyomas are benign hormone-sensitive uterine neoplasms common in women of childbearing age. They can have a major negative impact on women's quality of life, such as pelvic pain, uterine bleeding and infertility. There are several ways of treating uterine fibroids, such as medications, radiofrequency ablation, uterine artery embolization and surgical approach. For women who wish to preserve fertility, myomectomy is an intervention that protects the chances of pregnancy, regardless of the surgical approach adopted. Regarding the incidence of fibroids in pregnant women, there was an increase in its appearance due to the delay in their reproductive lives. The recurrence of this neoplasia was shown to be lower in patients who had less than two fibroids and greater according to the amount of fibroids, the presence of any pelvic disease and postoperative parity. Superiority of less invasive procedures over invasive ones was also observed when analyzing blood loss and postoperative recovery.
