Heilt der Wettbewerb unser Gesundheitssystem? Auswirkungen auf Qualität und Kosten

According to the literature the conversion of health care system with enhanced competition generates more costs for third party payers like insurers and public bodies. There is no proof in the literature that competition produces better quality for consumers and/or third party payers. Using macro economical comparison a lack of productivity in the Swiss health care system can be assumed. Independent of the political issues of the health care reform in Switzerland efforts are needed to improve efficiency and efficacy of the system. More transparency and quality for consumers and payers is needed. In the system design responsibilities for the care process have to be clearly defined.
