Congestion Avoidance Adaptive Routing Protocol For MANETs Using Network Coding

2019
In MANET, distinctive hubs are associated with one another through a remote medium. The nodes of MANET do not have any centralized administration mechanism. Although we get flexible and low-cost mobile network for multi-hop data transmissions, however, congestion is a primary issue that reduces the performance of the network. The performance is reduced due to packet loss, bandwidth degradation and loss in energy due to retransmissions. Load balanced congestion adaptive routing LBCAR (baseline) is the standard protocol to control congestion for MANETs. Although this protocol performs better than CRP and AODV, but it doesn’t produce efficient results at high data rates. We have proposed a new algorithm that utilizes network coding at the data rates higher than the specified threshold value. Experiments have given better results for the proposed technique at high data rates as compared to the baseline.
