존 웨슬리의 영원한 시간과 현재적 구원과 열린 구원

2021
The purpose of this article is to explore John Wesley’s eternal time, present salvation, and open salvation. Wesley categorizes eternal time as eternal past and eternal future, and further classifies eternal future as eternal happiness and eternal unhappiness. Wesley emphasizes that righteousness, peace, and joy of the kingdom of God can be encountered in present life, because he believes that the purpose of present life is not limited to preparing for life after death. According to Wesley, grace is both the love of God and the work of God. Wesley emphasizes that salvation is not a reward of one’s own good works but rather a gift of God, and that the door of salvation is open to all. In Wesleyan theology, great salvation and open salvation is synonymous. Chapter 2 deals with Wesley’s eternal time: eternal past and eternal future, eternal happiness and eternal unhappiness. Chapter 3 handles Wesley’s present salvation: liberation from sin, the means of grace and a magical attitude, and inner religion as true religion. Chapter 4 examines Wesley’s open salvation. Lastly, chapter 5 concludes this article.
