Optimizing frequency-transformation systems in radio relay station transceivers

A method is proposed for optimizing the frequency distribution in the frequency-transformation system of a transceiver in a radio relay station, which is based on the use of Farey series. Those series are used not only to analyze the combination frequencies but also as a basis for selecting the best block diagrams to simplify heterodyne implementation and the provision of a given spectral purity in the output signals; recommendations are made on the block diagrams for these transceivers.
