PERSPECTIVES AND PROGNOSTICATIONS ON POST-GRADUATE PEDAGOGY FOR PROFESSIONAL PERIPATETICS AT MONASH UNIVERSITY: SOME OBSERVATIONS ON CONTINUING EDUCATION IN TRANSPORT ENGINEERING

1987
This paper reviews the experience of the Monash University Department of Civil Engineering in developing and teaching a masters program in transport and traffic engineering. The means by which the curriculum was developed, monitored and reviewed are described; this process involved close liaison with "users" and included the establishment of an advisory committee on transport education within the department. Results of surveys of students' perceptions of the effect of the course on their careers are presented. Implications for the program in the light of changing technological, social and other circumstances are discussed (a).
