Figure/ground and Its Application in the Analysis of Salient Function of Focus in English Inverted Sentences

The salient function of inverted sentences have been analyzed again from the perspective of the figure/ground theory in cognitive linguistics.It is thought the inverted sentences are in accordance with the salient principles in the figure/ground theory.In the practical use of language,speakers usually convert "figure-background" in the natural sentences into "background-figure" to form an end-focus and reach the best salient result,thus draw listeners' attention.
