Method for preparing gamma-butyrolactone and tetrahydrofuran through water-phase catalytic hydrogenation of biomass-based succinic acid

2013
The invention relates to a method for preparing gamma-butyrolactone and tetrahydrofuran from biomass-based succinic acid, which comprises the following technical process: by using biomass-based succinic acid as a raw material, in the presence of a hydrogenation-dehydration bifunctional catalyst, performing water-phase hydrogenation on the biomass-based succinic acid to prepare gamma-butyrolactone and tetrahydrofuran, wherein the hydrogenation-dehydration bifunctional catalyst is a supported palladium/rhenium catalyst. The invention also relates to application of the hydrogenation-dehydration bifunctional catalyst in the reaction process. The method provided by the invention has the following advantages: the preparation of gamma-butyrolactone and tetrahydrofuran through the direct liquid-phase hydrogenation of biomass-based succinic acid is realized at a medium pressure by taking water as solvent; the products are high in yield; and the process is simple and easy to operate.
