Bayesian calibration in meat science research. Estimation of the PH in postmortem muscle

1995
In this paper two procedures for nonlinear Bayesian calibration are illustrated. In the first case uniform priors are assumed for the unknown parameters and by using Monte Carlo simulation, the. posterior distribution of ξc(the unknown X) is obtained. For the second procedure a transformation invariant design dependent prior is derived and the posterior distribution of ξc is obtained using numerical integration. The methods developed are applied to an example from meat science research given in Schwenke and Milliken (1991).
