System identification with hybrid Elman network

2004
A hybrid Elman network containing radial basis functions in its hidden layer is suggested for dynamic and chaotic system identification. Both the Elman network and feedforward networks with radial basis functions are being successfully used in system identification. It is shown that a hybrid Elman network with radial basis functions gives better performance than a simple Elman network in chaotic system identification applications.
