Suspected Alezzandrini's syndrome in a diabetic patient with unilateral retinal detachment and ipsilateral vitiligo and poliosis

good results have been reported with parenteral IFN-a2 administration in patients with DLE and subacute cutaneous LE.4 This improvement has been attributed to the immunomodulatory properties of lFN-a2, mainly through an antiinflammatory mechanism that down-regulates lymphokine production. However, this mechanism remains unproven.4 To our knowledge, we present the first case of DLE treated with low-dose intralesional lFN-a2 with significant improvement. Low-dose intralesional lFN-a2 may be a safe alternative treatment of unresponsive localized DLE. Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology
