D2D Underlaying Massive MIMO TWRN With Opportunistic Energy Harvesting

2017
Massive MIMO two-way relaying network (TWRN) is considered to assist the underlaid device-to-device (D2D) transmission, while supporting the multi-pair communication for cellular users (CUs). In particular, the D2D receivers, whose direct D2D link failed in the multiple-access phase, can perform the information detection (ID) with an opportunistic energy harvesting (EH) in the broadcast phase. Asymptotic analysis indicates that the power-saving of CUs can be achieved without any performance compromise for multi-pair and D2D communications. Simulations validate the analytical results, and characterize the interplay between the ID and EH for D2D users via the rate-energy region.
