Therapeutic Analysis of Postoperative Radiochemotherapy for Stage IIIa None-small Cell Lung Cancer

2005
Objective:To evaluate the results of postoperative radiochemotherapy for stage Ⅲa non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:One hundred and two patients with stage Ⅲa NSCLC were divided into two groups:76 cases received postoperative radiochemotherapy were in group A,26 cases received surgical treament alone were in guoup B.The clinical data of two groups were analyzed retrospectively. Results:In group A and in group B the overall 5-year survival rates were 32.2% and 9.1% respectively(P0.05),the local control rates were 73.7%(56/76)and 53.8%(14/26) respectively(P0.05) and the metastasis rates were 50.0%(38/76)and 61.5%(16/26) respectively(P0.05).Between two groups, there were significant difference in overall 5-year survival rates and local control rates. Conclusion:Postoperative radiochemotherapy can improve the survival rate for patients with stage Ⅲa NSCLC.Multivariate analysis showed that therapeutic modality,N staging and hemoglobin are the independent prognostic factors.
