The comparison of the treatment results between 20G and 25G vitrectomy system in idiopathic macular hole

Objective To compare 25G and 20G vitrectomy system in idiopathic macular hole.Methods During Oct.,2003～Dec.2007,OCT proves that the idiopathic macular hole patients have 28 eyesand 21 eyes fro each.Use 20G and 25G to treat each respective symptom.After the operation,compare andanalyze the sight,macular hole closing status,and the during-operation and after-operation syndromes,andtrace and observe for one month and six monthes.Results the sight of 20G group and 25G group in 6 monthsafter the operation enhance in a certain margin.The ones higher than 0.5 are 51.19% ;while the ones enhancingtwo rows are 57% and 59% respectively.If there is no remarkable meaning in the difference to two groups (P>0.05 )in one month after the operation,according to the comparison of two groups,the sight of 25G group ofpatients recover faster; if there is remarkable meaning in the difference to two groups (P <0.05),the macularhole closing rates of each period of two groups are similar to each other.ln spite of that there is one case ofchoroidal detachment in 25G group,there is no conspicuous syndrome during the operation and after theoperation.Conclusion in terms of idiopathic macular hole,carry out vitrectomy and inner limiting membranceoperation earlier is necessary.Compared with 25G group and 20G group of vitrectomy systems,25G has theadvantages that the sight recovering speed is faster,the operation term is shorter,and there is no conspicuouslinger effect after operation, etc. Key words: 25G transconjunctival sutureless vitrectomy system;  Idiopathic macular hole
