The analysis of polyolefins at high temperature using an internally-mounted, dual-angle laser light scattering detector

1995
We describe the use of an internally-mounted, dual-angle laser light scattering detector that provides light scattering measurements inside the heated column/detector compartment of a high-temperature GPC system. This paper will describe the use of the detector at temperatures above 140{degrees}C for molecular weight and branching analysis using Trichlorobenzene as the mobile phase. The paper will also describe the analysis with {alpha}-Chloronaphthalene as the mobile phase at temperatures above 160{degrees}C. Information will be given about obtaining precise and accurate branching information from radius of gyration measurements at high temperature.
