Non-thermal processes in clusters of galaxies

We review the recent detections of the soft. and hard excesses in the spectra of some clusters of galaxies. These new spectral components allow to constrain the population of particles responsible for the non-thermal phenomena in the intracluster medium and their acceleration mechanisms.
